about

These songs were recorded live off the floor. The band played together in studio for a single week following a ten year hiatus. Some songs have been kicking around for decades, some for years, some for months, and one came about in studio. They are nostalgic and supersonic.

Track Name: Air the Sky
lucky with wings
each other through
the air
the sky
the blue

easy focus
an easy rut
are they loving
or fighting
or what

bars against the hills
music by the stills
wondering which part is you
here
in this space
we're moving through
Track Name: Cities
when we let
the cities out
they disappeared
and we were lost
to wander through
the browning fields
with memories of
the deafening cars
but then they came
back one by one
lonesome for
the rocks beneath
that fit to them
and made them ring
precise the sound
and deafening

the time between
was glorified
by sons of sons
the wondering
they named the thing
nostalgic for
the slowing down
of everything
now traffic pulls
us through the streets
into the centre
of the song
and we agreed
we understood
they've welcomed us
to sing along
Track Name: Event
there
well i told you what i think
and i'm not sure
that it really matters
where
we floated past the brink
and i'm not sure
that it really matters

see
well that's how they did their hair
seconds
from the event horizon
we
we happened to be there
to snap their picture
for posterity

yeah we can still believe
they'll switch off the gravity
and we can go floating out
of here
yeah we can still believe
they'll switch off the gravity
and we can go waltzing out
of here
Track Name: Houses
god threw a handful
of houses on a hill
and we buried them
with our love
covered them
with silt
and we dug them up this morning
we got drunk
up on their roofs
and we fell
into a sleep
and let the centuries
soak through

you said maybe
one day this summer
we could fly out to the ocean
have a picnic on the sand
take lots of pictures
of the jetsam
and everything

everything
will just sort of
fall into place
again
mountains
coming
down in our eyes
again
everything
will just sort of
fall

let's have a round
for the ages
and the places
they once stood
this one's
for the sleeping
may they dream
of some place good
and here's
a bird to sing for you
here's
a couch to sleep
here's
a chair
to drift in
when you think
of empty streets

and maybe
one day this summer
or any more to come
we can swap
similar ideas
and laugh
that we have won
when everything

everything
will just sort of
fall into place
again
mountains
coming
down in our eyes
again
everything
will just sort of
fall
Track Name: Hearts
violence tumbled past
we smoked and watched
and afterwards
we laughed
but not really at that
our hearts were somewhere else
the words
they all got blurred

it's like we never heard
it's like we never heard
it's like we never
heard it said before
Track Name: Event ll
first thing i remember
i was lying in your arms
the air on fire around us
but i didn't feel harmed
i asked
who are you
what is this
you just leaned in
and softly said
remember when there was nothing
then there was everything
i was there

there we are forever
motionless and free
you look like your mother
and my father's there in me
don't look too long
at it all
like they want you to
or we drop out
and tumble through
and watch ourselves
do what we're
supposed to do

last thing i remember
i was searching for your hand
the winds swirled in around me
to lift me from the land
i yelled
who am i
where is this
the light just leaned in
and thought to me
remember when there was nothing
then there was everything
